The Rethink Homelessness campaign aims to dispel stereotypes and remind us that the circumstances which lead to living on the streets could happen to each and every one of us.

Well, no. If the artist was white and/or a man, they would be all over their suicide and say that it was somehow a positive thing.

If not, they would just use his or her death to further their own political dogma, trying their best to twist it into being about themselves.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE CELEBRATE A PERSON’S SUICIDE ON THIS SITE

The one time I did see people making fun of a dead person is Joan Rivers, a female comedian

A 14 year-old boy was recently raped at knife-point by a 20 year-old woman. When the story broke, it was primarily men who claimed he should have enjoyed it. It was feminists who validated his pain and spoke in support of him.

This is why we need feminism.

AND LOOK HOW YOU HANDLED THAT

do you see a difference because i sure as hell don’t

T.V.’s Arin Hanson, Arin Hanson, and Store Brand Arin Hanson

Arin Hanson in the middle, the actor to play him in the documentary of his life on the left, and the guy who plays him in the porno on the right

who exactly is vivian james? i kinda afraid to look her up because of the the porn she's probably got

dragondicks:

some character posters on /v/ came up with because they were like “we’ll prove we’re not misogynists by creating a unique and believable female character and get someone to put her in a videogame”. They then just designed a character entirely with their own interests & fetishes in mind (designed is kind of generous, they pretty much just put a new hairstyle onto an already-existing anime girl) and then drew porn of her lmfao

one of the biggest sources of paranoia i took from reading through my first 4chan thread about this issue is that social justice activism will inevitably destroy communities like 4chan. these people feel so disempowered in their lives that they head to communities like 4chan or reddit to be able to feel some sort of empowerment, to act out on something, to feel part of something bigger. this is where the whole mythos of Anonymous comes from. that a lone person with a computer has a tremendous power to take down the shadowy elite. but in that act, there’s no accountability, and no moral code. anyone with the resources can mobilize people to target anyone they see fit. sometimes it attacks against the interests of power, but just as often it’s a conservative, reactionary anger that comes out of disillusionment and fear, and gets constantly externalized onto marginalized people, especially women and queer people.

I’m actually concerned for boys who complain about how different girls look without makeup. Like did you think eyeshadow permanently alters a girls eyelid? Are you frightened when people change clothes

Babies have no concept of object permanence

That’s one of the sickest burns I’ve ever read.

Look at this contouring god

That’s impressive and all, but the end results creep me out, like some kind of uncanny valley effect

You should be aware that that article you reblogged about the black getting shot for a toy gun is severely twisted. He had a BB GUN and was brandishing it at people like a real weapon. Someone called the cops because they though there was a crazy person with a gun. The cops told him to drop, he didn't, they opened fire.

BOY HOWDY lets go through this one step at a time

"brandishing it like a real weapon" according to multiple witnesses at no point did john crawford, age 21, the man who was shot, actually point the barrel of the gun at anyone in the store, or even wave it around. other shoppers in the area walked by with no reaction to the toy gun at all,  and in accordance with ohios open carry law, its legal for anyone to carry a firearm into businesses without concealment, which has been done many time without incident

"someone called the cops because they though there was a crazy person with a gun" ronald richie, the person who called the police and claims crawford was waving the gun around, has actually CHANGED HIS STORY upon seeing the actual surveillance video of the shooting, which was been denied to the public, going from “he was a loaded rifle, and hes loading it, he definitely pointed it at people” to insisting that he was “waving it around”

"the cops told him to drop, he didnt" crawfords attorney micheal wright HAS seen the surveillance footage, and it showed that the police appeared to have gunned him down on sight - crawford never reached for the police, tried to flee, or raised the gun - in FACT, he was talking to his girlfriend at the time, and likely didnt even know what was happening until they opened fire

if youre willing to accept the reports of police after they murdered another innocent black man at face value without double checking facts to confirm your own prejudice, if you really think that ronald richie was justified in their actions and that crawford was NOT another victim of hatred and racism, then you need to get your head out of your ass

Texas textbooks once again pushing exaggerated claims about religion’s role in US history

Scholars examining high school social studies textbooks at the behest of the Texas Freedom Network have determined that the majority of the books adopted for classroom use in 2015 are “flawed” and “distorted,” KEYE TV reports.
The scholars blame the distortions on the politicized standards that the authors were forced to write in accordance with…
As Emile Lester, an associate professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington noted in his review of the history textbooks, “the material presented in these textbooks on [the issue of religion and the United States government] seems to have been determined more by political concerns than considerations of good scholarship.”

In other words: The American Talibaners who hijacked Texas’ education system and successfully forced national book publishers to write books filled with right-wing revisionist history are damaging the education of Texas’ children.

And in the majority of the rest of the country.
Texas schoolbooks account for 3/4 of the texts used in the entire United States

Tell your local school board “Just say no to Texas Schoolbooks.”.

Texa, Virginia, Alabama and Mississippi.
Please be aware of what your child’s school is teaching them regarding history. These are the same folks who won the right to change slavery in student’s textbooks to farm hands and willful servitude. It was a privilege to be a slave

In addition to essentially inventing the computer, Alan Turing also broke the German Enigma Code during World War II which paved the way for the D-Day invasion. The man was a hyper-genius. I’ve read descriptions of his work by mathematical physicist Sir Roger Penrose. He’s been a hero of mine ever since.
The level of thought required to come up with the stuff he came up with is totally beyond my comprehension. I actually did not even know about his orientation until much later. He was prosecuted and ordered to undergo chemical castration. Soon thereafter, he committed suicide by eating a cyanide-laced apple.

The government forced him to take estrogen as a punishment (or “cure”?). He began to develop breasts and other side effects.
He committed suicide by biting into a cyanide laced apple. This is supposedly the inspiration for the name/logo of Apple computers.
